Chatterpants is generously sized with a relaxed fit and runs bigger than Mothercare and Gap. Our clothes will still fit most children when they reach the top end of the age range, so unless we've said that the style is a "slim-fit" style, it's highly unlikely your child might need a larger size.
For trousers, if your child is shorter than average, a smaller size may be better. All our trousers have adjustable elasticised waists so they can easily be taken in for a slim child, so the most important measurement is usually the length.
If your little one is at a stage where he/she has more tummy than most or needs more room in the bottom for a real nappy, have a think about getting dungarees instead of trousers. Just like Marmite, some parents love them, some parents hate them! Whichever you are, dungarees are a looser fit round the middle, you can adjust the body length and they stay on even the most vigourous crawlers!
REAL NAPPY WEARERS - All of our dungarees should fit as well as our denim jeans.
For trousers and dungarees, please check the Trouser Length measurement in the table below to help you select the right size.

Garment Care
Please see the Care label on the inside of each garment for specific instructions. It's usually on the inside left hip - the child's left. You can assume all our garments are machine washable. We suggest you turn anything made from corduroy inside out before you do so, to keep the pile looking good.
If you have bought either our crawling trousers or dungarees, please take the knee pads out before you tumble dry or iron the garment so you don't develop a visible pad line on the outside. No disaster though if you forget!
We also recommend you wash our garments with similar colours although the dyes we use are colourfast and will retain their brightness wash after wash, with minimal to no dye leakage.
If you iron - Always best done from the inside, if at all!
Merino wool jumpers - yes they really are machine washable! If you want to be really careful with it, we would suggest you wash it with your delicates in one of those netting bags used for washing bras and tights on a 30-40 degree temperature setting. But it will still be fine without the bag!
Best dried flat or hanging. Don't use pegs! It should dry quite quickly if you have used a regular spin cycle. If you want to put it through the dryer, make sure it's NOT ON A HOT SETTING!
